“As more and more photographers add motion to their work, the barriers between capturing still and motion images are becoming less apparent. Find out how three professional photojournalists have used motion capture to broaden their storytelling and explore multiple interactive stations, various camera configurations, and hands-on demos.”

Beyond the Frame: Expanding the Language of Journalism Through Motion will take place Tuesday October 22nd at AbleCine in New York. At the event, VII photographers Ed KashiJessica Dimmock, and Ron Haviv will be speaking on a panel about incorporating video into photojournalism. The photographers will be showing selections of their portfolio and discussing the creative and technical aspects of using motion successfully. They will be available for individual Q&A after the presentation. Jeff Lee of AbelCine will also be giving a live demonstration of the Canon EOS-1D at the event, supplemented by a Canon lineup of still and motion equipment available for hands-on experience.

The event will take place from 6:00-9:00PM. There are limited seats for attendance at this free event, so it is recommended to RSVP as soon as possible. Hope to see you there.
