“Eyes on Main Street” has launched a Kickstarter campaign to help fund the printing, installation, and marketing costs of the public exhibition set to be on view for 100 days, beginning May 9, 2015. This outdoor exhibit will transform the main street of Wilson, North Carolina into a gallery of large-scale photographs. One hundred prominent and emerging photographers from 24 countries, including Sim Chi Yin and Maciek Nabrdalik of VII Photo Agency, are joining forces to bring us a world-class event. “The exhibition will be focusing on the theme of “Main Street”, as interpreted by the individual photographers: One Hundred Photographs by One Hundred Photographers on Display for One Hundred Days!”

The goal of the exhibition is to revive the sense of community and liveliness in downtown Wilson. “Preserving the historic buildings that line Wilson’s Nash Street is a central goal. Main Street stands for our shared humanity and our memories of a time that once was.  It should become the beating heart of our city once again. In that spirit, the festival organizers are proud to present an equal number of men and women photographers.
”

The Eyes on Main Street festival will launch with live music, photography workshops by participating photographers, curators, and scholars, and other festivities. The Eyes of Main Street festival will run until September 7th, 2015.
