Join award-winning journalist Peter Maass for a day-long writing and journalism workshop at Bronx Documentary Center (BDC) on June 7th from 10:00am-4:00pm. “Maass will discuss how to write strongly and colorfully about real-life events and will use writing examples from his books and magazine articles to delve into the importance of character development and narrative structure.” An emphasis will be placed on the importance of clarity and grabbing the reader’s attention.
The class will cover reporting methods and the use of video, as well as challenge participants with a writing exercise and class review. There will also be a special discussion with writer, photojournalist, and founder of BDC, Michael Kamber on the process of working with multimedia and the written word.
