The Montclair Film Festival is an annual film screening event held in Montclair, New Jersey. A diverse variety of films are shown during the week long event. Artistic director of the event, Thom Powers says, “We set out to curate a festival that is unique to this community”. This year’s festival will take place from April 29 to May 5.
Photojournalisms, a film by Talking Eyes Media will be featured in the NJ Shorts program. Photojournalisms is a short film that addresses the shifting meanings of ‘home’ through examination of Ed Kashi‘s career as a travelling photojournalist and his struggles with balancing his itinerant lifestyle with family relationships. “Encompassing nearly 20 years of photographs and journal entries to his wife, Julie, Photojournalisms (a supplement to Ed Kashi’s new book by the same title) is a short, experimental film that provides a glimpse into the life and mind of an intrepid photographer.” Ed writes, “the depth of my feelings, touched so deeply and so often by the realities I witness, are the testimony I want this collection to reveal.” This compelling film will be screened Saturday, May 4 at 9:15pm.
Come out and see the screening of this and many more films at this year’s Montclair Film Festival. Hope to see you there for this very exciting event!
