“Every year the Pingyao International Photography Festival is different. Every year there are new exhibitions, new and different lectures, new and exciting visual projects to experience. And most importantly,” says Jim Dooley, Executive Administrator of the Alexia Foundation, “Every year tens of thousands of people, those who are visually literate and those who are experiencing photography for the first time, come together in this ancient Chinese city to view and discuss all forms of photography.”

This year at the Pingyao Festival in September, the Alexia Foundation will have a strong presence in the exhibitions. There will be an Alexia Foundation exhibition featuring the work of 2014 Professional and Student Grant Winners, Sebastian Liste and Mehran Hamrahi. In addition, Ed Kashi (VII), Alexia Photojournalism Advisory Committee Member will have a solo exhibition at the festival. “Ed will be showing recent works from Nicaragua, Nigeria, and Syria. The works are unified by Ed’s belief that the work of photojournalists and documentary photographers can have a positive impact on the world.”
