Published yesterday on Voxxi, an interview with Ed Kashi highlights the impact and urgency of Ed’s “Island of Widows” IndieVoic.es campaign, focusing on Nicaragua’s epidemic of Chronic Kidney Disease of unknown origin. Discussing the increasing momentum of the disease, Ed is quoted “What’s really a concern now is that the disease has accelerated whereas it took…20 or more years [for older cane workers] to contract, their sons or grandsons are now contracting it as quickly after a year or two.”
Ed is further quoted, “There’s clearly some accelerant in the environment. I’m not a scientist, but one of the things I really appreciate about what La Isla is doing is they’re working with epidemiologists and scientists to try to figure out what’s the cause; to try to come up with a solution.”
You can be part of that solution. There are 3 days left to raise just under $3,000 for the “Island of Widows” campaign. We are so close to reaching the funding goal of $19,000! Please help this all-or-nothing campaign succeed by contributing a tax deductible donation and spreading the word. Thank you for your support!
