Presented by the Homecoming Project, “War & Memory” is a group exhibition featuring the work of photographers Erin Trieb, Ed Kashi (VII), Ashley Gilbertson (VII), and Michael Kamber among others. This show uses the power of storytelling and visual arts to draw attention to our military communities affected by the Iraq and Afghanistan wars.
“War & Memory” will be on display at Fovea in Beacon, NY from April 12, 2014 – July 6, 2014 with the opening reception on April 12 from 5-9pm. The opening event will feature an artist talk by photographer and founder of the Homecoming Project, Erin Trieb. On June 28th at 6pm there will also be a panel discussion on life after war, with Erin Trieb and photographers, veterans, and mental health professionals working with military families.
Fiscally sponsored by Talking Eyes Media (TEM), The Homecoming Project, aims “to illuminate key issues affecting military communities related to the wars in Iraq and Afghanistan, and to create a community of support at a grassroots, media and policy level, connecting resources of aid to individuals seeking assistance. We turn awareness into action.”
