ABOUT THIS WORKSHOP
This workshop is designed to improve your knowledge and skill in using photography as a medium to communicate ideas and share stories, using the streets of New York as our subject and canvas.
During the four-day intensive workshop you will learn about the power of storytelling, hone your photographic skills, be given the tools to leverage this visual form of communication and develop your personal style and approach that you’ll be able to use anytime, anywhere.
This workshop is open to both amateur and professional photographers and will be mentored individually according to their skill levels.
WORKSHOP OVERVIEW
This will be a hands on workshop in which all participants will be personally guided by both Ed Kashi and Jorge Delgado-Ureña along with support from Christelle Enquist.
You will be expected to fully immerse yourself, push your boundaries and rise up to the challenges you are given over the 4-days.
The workshop will begin going through each participant’s photographic goals. Ed will then show examples of his work, the images needed and what to look for to create a cohesive narrative and powerful body of work in any given situation.
Most of the workshop will be spent out on the streets, however, time will be set aside each day for short theory sessions, critiques and group discussion about the work produced.
The last day will be spent editing and creating a small body of work. This will include a large edit that will be printed in 10x15cm format which will be narrowed down and sequenced with the help of your mentors.

Developing an idea, approaching complicated situations, how to create powerful images for richer storytelling, editing, narrative development, portfolio development and dissemination of your work.
